Park Ridge Baseball/Softball


League age is how old the player will be on 9/1 of the current season  (School Age)


Future Stars: Instructional Tee-Ball League for 5 & 6 year old Boys & Girls  (Going into K or 1st)

Learn the fundamentals of baseball/softball. Games are played primarily on Saturday afternoons beginning in late May and concluding by the end of July. Practice is once per week, and is held in the evening. Games are primarily played at various locations throughout the city. Games will consist of 3 innings or 1 hour and 15 minutes, whichever occurs first.

Little Sluggers: Baseball League for 6 year old Boys & Girls (Coach Pitch)
This is an instructional league, with various special rules. Emphasis on learning the fundamentals of  baseball. This league is designed for a 6 year old boys and girls who are too advanced for Future Stars

Regulation game consists of 4 innings or 1 hour and 30 minutes, whichever occurs first. Practices are played at various locations and can be played on any day during the week. Normal Schedule is 1 game per week (Sat afternoon) and one practice per week on a weeknight.   Practice season begins in early May. Regular Season is 12-15 games, concluding by July 31st

Buddy Ball:

This program is open to all children with physical or mental challenges. Participants are given the opportunity to play at their own level while practicing teamwork at the same time. Instruction in baseball fundamentals is conducted with the emphasis on increasing self-esteem and building confidence. Practices and home games are played at Hinkley #1 on Wednesdays.

Registration for this program is done through the Maine Niles Assoc of Special Recreation

Girls Softball Programs

 Wildkit Girls: Softball League for 7 & 8 year old Girls

Instructional league, with playing rules according to Pony Softball for Girls, some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball.

This league begins with coach pitch and concludes with player pitch. Emphasis on learning the fundamentals of girls’ softball. Regulation game consists of 5 innings, with no new inning beginning after 1 hour 45 minutes from the start of the game. Games (2 per week) are played primarily at Centennial Park. Normal Schedule is 2 games per week (Saturdays  AND one weeknight);Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-15 games, concluding by July 10th or before. 

Junior Girls: Softball League for 9 & 10 year old Girls

Instructional semi-competitive league, with playing rules according to Pony Softball for Girls, some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Emphasis on learning the fundamentals of girl’s softball. Regulation game consists of 6 innings. Games (2 per week) are played primarily at Northwest and Kalina.  Normal Schedule is 2 games per week (Saturdays  AND one weeknight)

Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-15 games and playoffs, concluding by July 10th or before. 

Pre-Teen Girls: Softball League for 11 & 12 year old Girls

Competitive league with playing rules according to Pony Softball for Girls, some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 6 innings. Games (2 per week) are played primarily at Brickton and Hinkley parks. Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-15 games and playoffs, concluding by July 31st. If local enrollment doesn't reach 4 teams, we will participate in the Crosstown Girls Softball League with other nearby communities.

Pony Girls: Softball League for 13,14 & 15 year old Girls

Competitive league  with playing rules according to Pony Softball for Girls, some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 7 innings. Games(2-3 per week) are played primarily at Hinkley and Maine South . Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-15 games and playoffs, concluding by July 31st. If local enrollment doesn't reach 4 teams, we will participate in the Crosstown Girls Softball League with other nearby communities.


Boys Baseball Programs

Bobcat: Baseball League for 7 year old Boys.

Instructional league, with playing rules according to Little League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. This league begins with coach pitch and concludes with player pitch. Emphasis on learning the fundamentals of baseball in a relaxed environment. Regulation game consists of 5 innings; no inning shall start after 1 hour and 45 minutes from the start of the game. Games (2 per week) are played primarily at Maine, Northwest and Southwest Parks and Lincoln School. Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-15 games, concluding by July 31st. There are no playoffs in this division. Normal Schedule is 2 games per week (Sundays  AND one weeknight)

Pinto Baseball league for 8 year old Boys

Instructional semi-competitive league, with playing rules according to Little League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. This is the first boys’ player pitch league. Emphasis on learning the fundamentals of baseball. Regulation game consists of 5 innings; no inning shall start after 1 hour and 30 minutes from the start of the game. Games (2 per week) are played primarily at Maine, Northwest and Southwest Parks and Lincoln School. Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-15 games, concluding by July 31st.
Normal Schedule is 2 games per week (Sundays  AND one weeknight)

Mustang Baseball League for 9 &10 year old Boys.  (Teams are drafted by the coaches, they are not formed by the league)

Competitive league, with playing rules according to Little League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 6 innings. Games (2 per week) are played primarily at Centennial and Northwest Parks and Kalina Field (South Park).  Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 12-16 games, plus playoffs concluding by July 31st.  Normal Schedule is 2 games per week (Sundays  AND one weeknight)..No Saturday games

Bronco: Baseball League for 11 & 12 year old Boys

Competitive league, with playing rules according to Little League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 6 innings. Games (2-3 per week) are primarily played at Hinkley and JayCee Parks. Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 14-18 games, plus tournament concluding by July 31st.  Normal Schedule is 2 games per week (Sundays  AND one weeknight).No Saturday games

Pony Boys: Baseball League for 13 & 14 year old Boys

Competitive league, with playing rules according to Pony Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 7 innings, with no time limit. Games (2-3 per week) are played primarily at Northwest Park & Lincoln School. Practice season begins in mid-April; Regular Season is 15-18 games, plus playoffs concluding by July 31st. If local enrollment doesn't reach 4 teams, we will participate in the North Suburban Youth Baseball League with other nearby communities. 

Colt Boys: Baseball League for 15, 16 & 17 year old Boys

Competitive league, with playing rules according to Major League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 7 innings, with no time limit. Games (2 per week) are played on Saturday & Sunday at Southwest Park and Maine South. Practice season begins in late-May, Regular Season is 8-10 games, plus playoffs concluding by July 31st


This league does not conflict with HS baseball or “summerball”  If local enrollment doesn't reach 4 teams, we will participate in the North Suburban Youth Baseball League with other nearby communities. 

Palamino Boys Baseball for 17, 18, and 19 yr olds

Competitive league, with playing rules according to Major League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 7 innings, with no time limit. Games (2 per week) are played on Saturday & Sunday at Southwest Park and Maine South. Practice season begins in late-May, Regular Season is 8-10 games, plus playoffs concluding by July 31st

Thorobred Men's Baseball 18 & up

Competitive league, with playing rules according to Major League Baseball Inc., some rules superseded by Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. Regulation game consists of 7 innings, with no time limit. Games (2 per week) are played on Saturday & Sunday at Southwest Park and Maine South. Practice season begins in late-May, Regular Season is 8-10 games, plus playoffs concluding by July 31st

If local enrollment doesn't reach 4 teams, we will participate in the North Suburban Youth Baseball League with other nearby communities.
