BOYS TOURNEY RULES

1. Rosters are to be submitted to the tournament official at your first game. Official will be at your gamesite.

1a. Players ages are determined by their age on 9/1 of the current year. For programs that use a different date in their house league, that date will be used.

1b. Birth certificates are not required. Please have them available in case the age of a player is questioned. Any team found in violation of the age rule will forfeit all games.

Proof of insurance must be provided to the tourney official prior to the first game.

2. Teams must arrive at the designated field 30 minutes prior to the scheduled game time. All warm-ups must be taken prior to the starting time of the game. A forfeit will result 15 minutes after designated start time. A minimum of 8 players is necessary to play a game. Less than eight, at any time, is a forfeit.

2a. Home team will be the last team listed and will occupy the 3rd base bench.

3. Game balls and an official scoresheet will be provided.

4. Teams must bat their entire number of players in attendance in all games.

Since the entire group is batting, the manger may substitute freely in the field. An injured player, not able to bat will be skipped, without penalty, and is out the remainder of the game. If a player is injured while at bat, the last batted out will replace the batter with the same count, etc.

5. The schedule will not be changed, except by the tournament director due to field constraints or special conditions of the Park Ridge Park District. We will attempt to play all games, however, the tourney may be shortened due to rain.

6. The Little League Rule Book (Williamsport) will be used EXCEPT for the following:

Bases: 11 &12 -> 70' 8-10 -> 60' ... Some fields @60' use a double 1st base.

Pitching 8 - 43 , 9 &10 46' 11 &12 48'

Games: 8 ,9, & 10 6 innings 11 &12 7 innings Extra innings will be played to decide a winner

All games will be complete after 4 full innings. Incomplete games (games not through 4 innings) that are called for any reason will be rescheduled and resumed from the point they were halted. The lineup will remain the same.

Players may steal in 10 YR OLD division after the ball hits the ground or catcher's glove. NO DELAYED STEALING IS ALLOWED.

11 & 12 YR OLD DIVISION WILL PLAY BRONCO RULES. No stealing in the 8 & 9 year old divisions.

No Balk Warning

No infield Fly Rule in 8 Yr olds

On a close play at 2nd, 3rd, or home; the runner must slide OR avoid contact. NO COLLISIONS. Failure to do so will result in the runner being called out, and ejected if flagrant.

No metal spikes are allowed.

Helmets must be worn by players at bat, on base, on deck, and if coaching a base.

Bats must be approved Little League ( not to exceed 2 ¼" diameter)

If a batter assumes a bunting position, he must either offer at the pitch or pull the bat back. He may not slash hit. Penalty: Automatic out and the ball is dead.

There shall be no more 3 offensive conferences per game. A conference held during a defensive trip to the mound will not be charged to the offense, but must end when the charged conference has ended.

Warm ups are allowed between innings, but not more than 2 minutes shall pass from the end of the inning until the start of the next.

ONLY THE ON DECK BATTER IS ALLOWED IN THE ON DECK AREA. ALL OTHERS ARE IN THE DUGOUT/BENCH AREA, UNLESS WARMING UP TO GO IN, COACH A BASE, COME ONTO THE FIELD FOR A CHARGED CONFERENCE, OR ARE BECKONED ONTO THE FIELD BY THE UMPIRE.

MERCY RULE

Ahead by 8 runs after 6, 10 runs after 5 innings, or ahead by 15 runs after 4 innings

7. All legal protests will be decided by tourney officials and the umpires before play is resumed.

8. PITCHING RULES

No player may pitch more than 3 innings in a regulation 6 inning game and 4 innings in a regulation 7 inning game. One pitch thrown constitutes an inning pitched.

A pitcher must be replaced during the second charged conference in an inning. Once a pitcher is removed from the mound he may not pitch again in that game.

9. GENERAL INFORMATION

In 10 and 12 yr old division

Each team will play other teams (4 games). The top 2 records will play for the championship. Home team will determined by the higher seed

In 8, 9 ,& 11 's

Each team will play 4 games against randomly selected teams. The top 4 best records will play for the championship via a 1 vs 4 & 2 vs 3 semi final
HOME TEAM WILL DE DETERMINED BY THE HIGHER SEED IN THE SEMI FINALS & FINALS.
IF EQUAL A COIN FLIP WILL BE USED.

Ties for the spots will be decided in the following order:

1. Head to head result (2 teams only)

2. Average # of runs allowed per game*

3. See tournament director

*if a team is involved in a forfeit, that game is not used

10. AWARDS

Team and individual trophies will be given to the champion and 2nd place teams (15 max.). All players will be given a participation award (15 max per team).

RAINOUTS:

In the event of rain, games will be rescheduled by the tournament director. If in doubt about field conditions please have your manager call the rain info hotline. Only mangers should use this number, or no one will get through. Do not call until 2 hours prior to game time.

Finally, we are here to watch our kids and have fun. Managers are responsible for the behavior of all players, coaches and fans. If any disciplinary action is taken by the tourney officials for conduct, your team and your entire program may be penalized. No alcohol is permitted on the park district grounds. No manager, coach, parent or player may smoke in or around the player's bench or field.

NOTE: It is permissible to cheer for your own team at any time, however, rhythmic chanting is not allowed. It is OK for tasteful cheer to be in unison between innings, but at no time should any yelling occur while the pitcher in his motion.
