Should my child play Little Sluggers or Future Stars ?

Welcome back to another season of Park Ridge Baseball/Softball. I would like to give you some information about the leagues that are available for 6 yr. old boys and girls.
Future Stars is for 5 and 6 year olds. It is tee ball while Little Sluggers ( coach pitch ) is for 6 year olds that have played in Future Stars and want the next level.
LITTLE SLUGGERS (Coach Pitch)

(Available to boys and girls)

Available to 6-year olds that have are developmentally passed (top 20%) what Future Stars

(T Ball) can offer

These 6-year-old players should be able to:

Hit a live pitch (will receive 3 pitches from their manager/coach, if the ball is not put into play the tee will be used

Throw & catch a ball from a distance of 30 feet (9" incrediball soft-touch used, slightly harder than the ball used in Future Stars).

Be able to protect themselves at all times while in the field

Please remember, we all want our children to be in the top 20%, but please be realistic. It doesn't do any good for the child to be overmatched and lose interest in the game at a young age. Future Stars (T Ball) remains available to 6 year olds, and the majority of 6's play there.

The League forms the teams for both Future Stars and Little Sluggers - Managers in these leagues can request players, but requests by players are not entertained.

Practice starts for both of these leagues near the end of April. Games begin mid May and run through mid July.

Little Sluggers plays a weekday game at 6pm and a Saturday afternoon game.  Future Stars plays one game per week on Saturday afternoon.
Both leagues practice one day per week ...(the day & time is determined by the manager).
